What the app adds

Five home-screen widgets: water, supplements, a quick note, today's training and today's meals. The first three act without opening anything - tap and it is logged. The app can also read steps, sleep, weight and body composition from Health Connect, so a scale or watch that writes there reaches Routina without you typing anything.

Everything else is the website you already use. No feature lives only in the app.

How to install

1. 1Tap the download button above, and open the file when it finishes.
2. 2Android asks to allow installing apps from this source, the first time. Allow it for your browser.
3. 3Play Protect may warn that the app is from outside the Play Store. That is expected for a direct download, not a sign anything is wrong - tap Install anyway.
4. 4Open Routina and sign in with your usual account.
5. 5Long-press your home screen, open the widget tray, and add the Routina widgets you want.

How updates work

Most updates need nothing from you. The app loads Routina from the web, so every screen, fix and new feature reaches you the moment it is deployed - exactly as it does in the browser. There is no app update to wait for and no store review in the way.

Only the native parts need a new download - the widgets themselves, the Health Connect reading, and anything else that runs outside the web view. That is rare. When it happens, come back here and install the newer file over the top: your data, your login and your widgets stay exactly as they are.

Is it safe to install this way?

The file is signed with a key only Routina holds, and Android checks that signature on install and on every update - a file that was tampered with, or built by somebody else, will not install over this one. Your browser and Play Protect will still warn you, because that is what they do for anything not from the Play Store, and there is no way to turn that warning off from this side.

The app asks for no permissions at install. Health Connect access is requested only when you turn it on, one data type at a time, and you can withdraw it in Health Connect without uninstalling anything.

If something looks wrong

A widget is not updating. Widgets refresh about every half hour, which is Android's own floor, though your own taps show immediately. If one stays blank, open the app once - a widget that has lost its key says so and links you back.

Routina links open in the browser. Reinstalling usually fixes it: Android checks the site-to-app link at install time and caches a failure.

You want a device to stop syncing. Revoke it under Settings, devices. It stops working immediately, and the phone keeps nothing.
